Age, or significant weight loss, often cause the face to lose volume, thus giving a hollow, wasted appearance. Biofillers are injectable products that have been developed in recent years and are utilized to restore volume to aging faces and soft tissue defects. What's New
Sculptra, a new biofiller, was recently approved by the FDA to combat "facial wasting" seen in some patients. This product has been so successful that its use has been extended to the normal thinning and loss of facial volume seen with aging. It is easily applied and very effective in providing added volume to the aging face.
