Skin Cancer
Skin cancer is a very common finding today due to the increase in outdoor life styles with the accompanying sun exposure. Golf, boating, tennis and gardening can expose your skin to dangerous UV radiation from the sun which can, over time, cause skin cancers.
Most of the skin cancers we see are classified as Basal Cell Carcinomas or Squamous Cell Carcinomas and are usually not life threatening, however, they can often cause severe cosmetic deformity if neglected. Until now, most of these lesions had to be surgically removed. However, recently a new technology has been approved by the FDA for the treatment of these cancers that does NOT involve surgery and is effective and easy. This new therapy is Omnilux Light Therapy.
Omnilux Light Therapy
The treatment is PAINLESS and usually involves only three 20 minute light treatments. The treatment is also used for some precancerous lesions (actinic keratosis). After extensive usage in England and Europe, it was discovered that Omnilux also produced some very beneficial side-effects to improve the appearance of the skin and slow the skin's aging process. This is accomplished by increasing collagen production. These treatments are also available for cosmetic patients and are comfortable and painless.
