Over the last 4-5 years, lasers have been developed to aid in body contouring. These lasers work by gently melting the fat. Because the procedures are so well tolerated by the patients, most patients can be treated in the office, fully awake and pain free during the procedure. This has made SmartLipo (Laser Assisted Lipectomy) an excellent alternative to procedures at surgical facilities under general anesthesia or IV sedation. There is a huge cost savings to the patient, who will avoid facility fees and payments to the anestheologist. The in-office body contouring is safe, effective and essentially pain free.
